Awareness Days

Fire Prevention Week

Sunday, October 7th - Saturday, October 13th 2018

For more than 90 years, the National Fire Protection Association has been the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week. This year’s theme is Look. Learn. Listen. Be Aware. Fire Can Happen Anywhere.

Having working smoke alarms in the home greatly reduces the risk of dying in a home fire, because they can alert people in time to escape safely. Make sure that you have smoke alarms installed in all of the required locations, including every bedroom, outside each sleeping area and on every level of your home. It’s also important to test your smoke alarms twice a year to make sure that they are working and to remind your family what to do when they hear the alarm.
